Looking For A Long-Term Relationship? Adopt Bebe!

On this Valentine’s Day, we kick off a new BHB feature, doing our part to help you find the love of your life.

The good folks at the Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and adopt cats, dogs, rabbits, and whatever other animals cross their path in need of assistance, so we’re going to help by featuring an adoptable pet a week.

First up is Bebe, an approximately eight-year-old border collie/German Shepherd (we think) mix.  Surrendered by an owner who could no longer care for her, Bebe has been living for the last several months at Rocco and Jezebel’s on Pineapple Walk.

“I’d take her in a minute,” said John Marcolini, one of the shop’s proprietors. “But we have another dog who’s sick, and it wouldn’t be fair to her.”

Bebe is a super-sweet, medium-sized dog who gets along with the other dogs in Rocco and Jezebel’s doggie dog care center, though she can get a little anxious when they get too rambunctious; she’s likely to do best in a quiet home, though both Marcolini and his wife, Andrea Demetroplous, think that she’d get along fine with children.

She’s curious about cats but not aggressive, getting along with Marcolini and Demetropolous’ cats when she went to their home for a visit.

An adoption fee is required to help cover the costs of completely vetting Bebe, who is spayed.

On a short walk, Bebe was friendly and well-behaved, welcoming affection from a stranger, though not proving to be a particularly cooperative model for photos. This super-sweet girl would love to find a home and will make an excellent, loyal pet—if you’re interested in meeting her, please contact Andrea and John at their shop at 89 Pineapple Walk, or 718 855 8686.
